Basic homeopathic remedies – Aconite

Aconite

Aconite (Aconitum Napellus), is a plant called Monkshood or Wolfsbane. It grows in mountain regions where furious cold, cutting winds frequently blow. The situations of people who benefit from this remedy are characterized by tension.

Aconite is used for curing a cold in the making — a beginning sore throat — that is coming on due to exposure to an external cold wind, an air conditioner in a room, a fan or a cold draft — basically, getting chilled. This exposure is often followed by entering a warm room or area, or even repeatedly being exposed to a cold and then a warm area.

Give Aconite 200C or Aconite 1M once and the sore throat will dissipate and no cold symptoms will manifest later on. The remedy is quite effective, but, of course, you need to have it on you — in your acute remedy kit that you always bring along wherever you go for your own use or the benefit and education of others.

Aconite is also an important remedy for intense fear — especially for long-term phobias — where there is a known object of the fear, such as in fear of dogs, fear of flying, fear of entering a tunnel, etc., whatever it might be, so long as it is a specific intense fear and not a general anxiety.

For best results, give one pill of Aconite 1M once to the patient, just once. The fear will gradually evaporate, the length of time depending on how deep-seated the fear is. Repeating the remedy later “just to make sure” or “to speed up the healing” will counteract the healing process. Homeopathic remedies are not taken the way normal medicines are.

For fear of flying, give Aconite a day before the flight or just before boarding the plane. Here the potency 200C can also be quite effective. It should be noted that the remedy Argentum Nitricum 200C might be preferred for fear of flying should the patient be a talkative, nervous type.

For intense fear prior to delivering a baby, give Aconite 1M.

The intense fear of soldiers going into battle will be greatly alleviated with Aconite 1M.

Aconite is also useful prior to making a parachute or bungee jump, or any type of activity that brings on intense fear.

Why Am I So Fat??

Slow Poison
Article by Peter Chappell

MSG The food additive MSG (Mono-Sodium Glutamate) is a slow poison. MSG hides behind 25 or more names, such as “Natural Flavouring.”

MSG is even in your favourite coffee from Tim Horton’s and other
brand-name coffee shops!

I wondered if there could be an actual chemical causing the massive
obesity epidemic, and so did a friend of mine, John Erb. He was a
research assistant at the University of Waterloo in Ontario, Canada,
and spent years working for the government. He made an amazing
discovery while going through scientific journals for a book he was
writing called The Slow Poisoning of America.

In hundreds of studies around the world, scientists were creating obese mice and rats to use in diet or diabetes test studies. No strain of rat or mice is naturally obese, so scientists have to create them. They make these creatures morbidly obese by injecting them with MSG when they are first born. The MSG triples the amount of insulin the pancreas creates, causing rats (and perhaps humans) to become obese. They even have a name for the fat rodents they create: “MSG-Treated Rats.”

When I heard this, I was shocked. I went into my kitchen and checked
the cupboards and the refrigerator. MSG was in everything — the
Campbell ‘s soups, the Hostess Doritos, the Lays flavoured potato chips, Top Ramen, Betty Crocker Hamburger Helper, Heinz canned gravy, Swanson frozen prepared meals, and Kraft salad dressings, especially the “healthy low-fat” ones.

The items that didn’t have MSG marked on the product label had something called “Hydrolyzed Vegetable Protein,” which virtually always has Monosodium Glutamate in it, makes the otherwise terrible taste acceptable!!

It was shocking to see just how many of the foods we feed our children everyday are filled with this stuff. MSG is hidden under many different names in order to fool those who read the ingredient list, so that they don’t catch on. (Other names for MSG are “Accent, “Aginomoto,” “Natural Meat Tenderizer,” etc.)

But it didn’t stop there.

When our family went out to eat, we started asking at the restaurants what menu items contained MSG. Many employees, even the managers, swore they didn’t use MSG.

But when we ask for the ingredient list, which they grudgingly provided, sure enough, MSG and Hydrolyzed Vegetable Protein were everywhere.

Burger King, McDonald’s, Wendy’s, Taco Bell, every restaurant — even the sit-down eateries like TGIF, Chili’s, Applebee’s, and Denny’s — use MSG in abundance. Kentucky Fried Chicken seemed to be the WORST offender: MSG was in every chicken dish, salad dressing. and gravy. No wonder I loved to eat that coating on the skin — their secret spice was MSG!

So why is MSG in so many of the foods we eat? Is it a preservative, or a vitamin?

Not according to my friend John Erb. In his book The Slow Poisoning of America, he said that MSG is added to food for the addictive effect it has on the human body.

Even the propaganda website sponsored by the food manufacturers lobby group supporting MSG explains that the reason they add it to food is to make people eat more.

A study of the elderly showed that older people eat more of the foods that it is added to. The Glutamate Association lobbying group says eating more is a benefit to the elderly, but what does it do to the rest of us?  Not good for anyone!!!

“Betcha can’t eat [just] one,” takes on a whole new meaning where MSG is concerned! And we wonder why the nation is overweight!

MSG manufacturers themselves admit that it addicts people to their
products. It makes people choose their product over others, and makes people eat more of it than they would if MSG wasn’t added.

Not only is MSG scientifically proven to cause obesity, it is an
addictive substance. Since its introduction into the American food
supply fifty years ago, MSG has been added in larger and larger doses to the pre-packaged meals, soups, snacks, and fast foods we are tempted to eat everyday.

The FDA has set no limits on how much of it can be added to food. They claim it’s safe to eat in any amount. But how can they claim it’s safe when there are hundreds of scientific studies with titles like these:

“The monosodium glutamate (MSG) obese rat as a model for the study of exercise in obesity.” Gobatto CA, Mello MA, Souza CT, Ribeiro IA. Res Commun Mol Pathol Pharmacol. 2002.

“Adrenalectomy abolishes the food-induced hypothalamic serotonin release in both normal and monosodium glutamate-obese rats,” Guimaraes RB, Telles MM, Coelho VB, Mori C, Nascimento CM, Ribeiro. Brain Res Bull. 2002 Aug.

“Obesity induced by neonatal monosodium glutamate treatment in
spontaneously hypertensive rats: An animal model of multiple risk
factors.” Iwase M, Yamamoto M, Iino K, Ichikawa K, Shinohara N,
Yoshinari Fujishima. Hypertens Res. 1998 Mar.

“Hypothalamic lesion induced by injection of monosodium glutamate in
suckling period and subsequent development of obesity,” Tanaka K,
Shimada M, Nakao K Kusunoki. Exp Neurol. 1978 Oct.

No, the date of that last study was not a typo; it was published in
1978. Both the “medical research community” and “?food manufacturers” have known about the side effects of MSG for decades.

Many more of the studies mentioned in John Erb’s book link MSG to
diabetes, migraines and headaches, autism, ADHD, and even Alzheimer’s.

So what can we do to stop the food manufactures from dumping this
fattening and addictive MSG into our food supply and causing the obesity epidemic we now see?

Several months ago, John Erb took his book and his concerns to one of the highest government health officials in Canada. While he was sitting in the government office, the official told him, “Sure, I know how bad MSG is. I wouldn’t touch the stuff.” But this top-level government official refuses to tell the public what he knows.

The big media doesn’t want to tell the public either, fearing issues
with their advertisers. It seems that the fallout on the fast food
industry may hurt their profit margin. The food producers and
restaurants have been addicting us to their products for years, and now we are paying the price for it. Our children should not be cursed with obesity caused by an addictive food additive.

But what can I do about it? I’m just one voice! What can I do to stop the poisoning of our children, while our governments are insuring financial protection for the industry that is poisoning us?

This message is going out to everyone I know in an attempt to tell you the truth that the corporate-owned politicians and media won’t tell you.

The best way you can help to save yourself and your children from this drug-induced epidemic is to forward this article to everyone. With any luck, it will circle the globe before politicians can pass the legislation protecting those who are poisoning us.

The food industry learned a lot from the tobacco industry. Imagine if big tobacco had a bill like this in place before someone blew the
whistle on nicotine?

If you are one of the few who can still believe that MSG is good for us and you don’t believe what John Erb has to say, see for yourself. Go to the National Library of Medicine at www.pubmed.com.

Type in the words “MSG Obese” and read a few of the 115 medical studies that appear.

We the public do not want to be rats in one giant experiment, and we do not approve of food that makes us into a nation of obese, lethargic, addicted sheep, feeding the food industry’s bottom line while waiting for the heart transplant, the diabetic-induced amputation, blindness, or other obesity-induced, life-threatening disorders.

With your help we can put an end to this poison.

Do your part in sending this message out by word of mouth, e-mail, or by distribution of this printout to your friends all over the world and stop this “Slow Poisoning of Mankind” by the packaged food industry.

Blowing the whistle on MSG is our responsibility, so get the word out.

Making Homeopathic Remedies for Special Purposes

You can make an effective home-made homeopathic remedy for anything that might be causing an adverse effect on you, such as:

  • A local skin exposure to a chemical
  • A medicine, drug or chemical that has made you feel ill
  • Disagreeable effects of chemotherapy (obtain a very tiny pinhead sample of the chemotherapy substance, or get the chemical cadmium sulfate, CaSO4, from a materials or chemist’s shop to make the remedy – see note below)
  • Any electromagnetic radiationyou have been exposed to that you feel has adversely affected your health
  • Exposure to radiation (see the article Treating Radiation Exposure with Classical Homeopathy under Articles on this blog for further details)
  • Exposure to X-rays (use cadmium sulfate, CaSO4, or sunlight to make a remedy for this, see note below)
  • Exposure to a particular magnetic field
  • Exposure to a particular electric field
  • The wound from an animal bite
  1. Obtain a tiny sample of the offending substance or influence, or from a wound.
If it is a solid substance you can soak it in water for some hours and use a portion of this water, say 1 ml, as a sample for making your remedy.
If it is an influence (vibration, electromagnetic field, radiation, light, etc.), expose some milk sugar (lactose powder) to it for some hours and use a portion of the milk sugar, say 1 g, as a sample.
  2. Put the sample into a small bottle you can cap, and fill it with water (clean tap water, distilled water,  spring water).
  3. Holding the bottle in your hand, strike your hand forcefully 40 times on a hard surface such as a book.
  4. Pour out the contents of the bottle into the sink.
  5. Refill the bottle with water.
  6. Repeat steps three to five the number of times (say n) necessary to obtain the potency you want.
To keep it simple and safe use n=12 as any traces of poison chemical will have completely disappeared by then.
This means that you have to repeat steps 3–5 twelve times.
Values of n from 3 to 30 are often used – where 3, 6, 12 and 30 are the usual potencies made.
  7. To the final solution you need to leave room for adding 20% alcohol (vodka, brandy or whisky) as a preservative to avoid the growth of fungus, etc.

How to take the remedy

  1. Take some drops of the remedy a number of times each day, for example, 3–5 times a day, until you notice a change for better or worse.
If you have become better, don’t take any more of the remedy unless you get worse again.
  2. If you have become worse, wait until the worse condition ends.
If you then feel better with more energy and greater well being, don’t take any more of the remedy unless you get worse again.
  3. Proceed with steps one and two above until your improvement is stable, or you feel it is time to stop.

Note:  If you have a homeopathic pharmacy available, instead of making the cadmium sulfate remedy yourself, you could purchase the homeopathic remedy Calcium Sulphuricum 12C from the pharmacy and take it as indicated above since this will be more effective. Milk sugar (lactose) is known as sac lac by the pharmacy, so just order sac lac.

Homeopathic Remedies for Grief and Sadness

The main homeopathic remedies for grief and sadness are Ignatia, Natrum Muriaticum (nat mur) and Causticum.

These remedies are used for different purposes as described below.

Ignatia (Ignatia amara, St. Ignatius Bean)

Death of a loved one
Ignatia is given after a loved one dies and the surviving person is totally shocked by this event, having a feeling of unreality, as if in a nightmare, that this could not possibly have happened, or be true. The surviving person is in a state of emotional shock, even hysteria, and can’t believe that his or her loved one has died. Some people even try to commit suicide.

Ignatia 1M or 10M can be of great help in alleviating this horrible feeling. The remedy needs only to be given once.

If this initial state is not treated with Ignatia, deep depression can result in those left behind. Here the next remedy nat mur described below can be quite helpful.

(Funeral homes should offer Ignatia 1M to grieving relatives and friends. As the remedy is so inexpensive (one US cent will pay for quite a number of pills) it will not burden their budget and only enhance their good reputation with the good results obtained.)

Ending of relationships
Another important use of Ignatia is to cure the emotional state of a person after a relationship has been ended. Such people are often very tearful and desolate and weep without cessation over the loss of a loved one – be it a boyfriend, a girlfriend a husband or a wife. Some even commit suicide due to unbearable sorrow.

Here Ignatia 1M is used, and in a few weeks the afflicted person is often in great spirits, with a totally different view of the loss, even considering the separation of no great importance, or a blessing.

Natrum Muriaticum (nat mur)

This is a state of long-term sadness and bitterness. Typically it develops after the loss of a loved one by either death or separation, and the initial shock has subsided without treatment with Ignatia.

This state often keeps developing years after a loss. Tears can appear on talking about a loved one, or being reminded of him or her. An emotional surge of sadness can suddenly arise.

Here the 1M potency of the remedy is quite useful. Given once it typically leads to weeping episodes during a week or so, mostly taking place in private.

The 10M potency can also be given once after a month or two if nat mur 1M does not alter the state entirely.

Causticum
This remedy is quite useful after a person has suffered a long string of losses, whether they be losses of loved ones, or financial or other losses. It is a state of long-lasting grief. Many in the Causticum state are hopeless and despondent, even wanting to die.

Causticum persons are often overly sympathetic. They can weep when they see other people weeping, or from having great sympathy with others.

Causticum people react strongly to any type of injustice, becoming quite angry and willing to do something about it.

However, on the other side of the coin, Causticum persons can be quite bitter, even hateful and revolutionary anarchists.

Here the 1M or 10M potency given once can be quite effective in bringing a person out of this state.

How to take homeopathic pills
There should be no aftertaste in the mouth on taking a homeopathic remedy. Thus, you should not eat or drink anything (besides water) at least fifteen minutes before and after taking the remedy.

Nor should there be any strong odor, e.g., perfume, incense, etc. present in the room.

It can be practical to take the remedy in the morning before tooth brushing and breakfast. But any time of the day will do.

Avoid touching the remedy with your fingers as this can neutralize it. Use the remedy container cap instead, or some other means, to throw the pill onto the tongue.

Allow the pill to dissolve on the tongue and wait at least fifteen minutes before ingesting anything. Don´t worry about any unpleasant taste. The remedy is a tiny lactose sugar pill with no chemicals, so it will taste like a piece of candy. It only contains information the body will use to heal itself.

Homeopathic remedies can be obtained via the Internet. Be sure to order the correct potency as indicated above, as otherwise the remedy may be too weak.
